Located in the heart of the historical city center in Milano, Palazzo Clerici was formerly owned by one of the most important families of the XVII century, Visconti dei Consignori di Somma, but most of its renovations and embellishments were made by the Clerici Family, coming from the Lake Como, who bought the property in the second half of the XVII century.

Antonio Clerici, one of the heirs of the family, who loved luxury and opulence, started to buy precious furniture, art pieces and ornaments to make the residence as much sumptuous as possible.

He wanted to create a magnificent home, similar to the aristocratic French palaces, to remark the administrative power and social influence the family got at that time.

Before getting married with Fulvia Visconti in 1741 he ordered Gianbattista Tiepolo to paint the ceiling of the gallery that was the main reception room of the Palace.
